DC, Maryland and Virginia do not work the same way, and assuming they do is the most expensive mistake a new provider makes. Here is each one, with the date we last checked it, and the authority to contact when you need them rather than us.

What governs here

The Maryland Public Service Commission commonly handles intrastate for-hire passenger authority. Contract structure and exemptions can change the path, so confirm the intended operation instead of assuming one rule fits every provider.

Maryland Medicaid transportation is administered through 24 local jurisdictions. Prince George’s and Montgomery also sit inside the WMATC district, so the trip pattern can add another authority layer.

    Two official sources currently disagree. The PSC FAQ states twice yearly; COMAR 20.95.01.11 ties frequency to something else. We are not going to pick one for you.

    County insurance minimums

    No Maryland county bid document we could open publishes these. Commercial vendor sites assert figures that match no Maryland primary source, so we do not repeat them. Ask your county program office.

  • We confirm the exact requirement that applies to you at registration, in writing, before you are asked to buy anything.

Do not buy a policy against a number you read on a vendor website. Confirm with your county program office and the PSC.
